We are excited to welcome our students and families back for another amazing school year! Our school uses Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment where every student can succeed.
What is PBIS?
PBIS is a school-wide approach that teaches, models, and recognizes positive behaviors. Just like we teach reading and math, we also teach students how to make positive choices, solve problems, and be responsible members of our school community.
Our School Expectations
Throughout the year, students will learn and practice our school expectations in every area of the building, including classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria, playground, restrooms, and buses.
We encourage every student to:
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be A Team
Celebrating Positive Choices
Students who demonstrate our school expectations will be recognized in a variety of ways throughout the year. Celebrations may include:
- Positive praise from staff
- PBIS reward tickets or points
- Classroom incentives
- School-wide celebrations and special activities
Recognizing positive behavior helps encourage students to continue making great choices every day.
How Families Can Help
Families play an important role in supporting positive behavior. You can help by:
- Talking with your child about our school expectations.
- Asking your child how they demonstrated respect, responsibility, or safety each day.
- Celebrating positive choices at home.
- Encouraging problem-solving and kindness.
We're Looking Forward to a Great Year!
Thank you for partnering with us to create a positive, supportive school community. Together, we can help every child learn, grow, and thrive.
We can't wait to see all of the wonderful things our students accomplish this school year!
