Warriors Want-to-Know
for the 2020-2021 School Year

1. How will I be informed of the latest information?

For the latest information, please sign up for SchoolMessenger:  You can participate in this FREE service by sending “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587 or sign up with the QR code below.

2. Will masks be required for students to wear at school?

  • If social distancing is not possible, all students as well as employees will be required to wear masks. (Examples: school bus, hallway, and in classrooms, as needed).

  • When social distancing is possible, masks will not be required but will be encouraged.

3. Is it possible to send my student to school and then change my mind and register for DL?

Yes! Students may change from face to face instruction to digital learning at any time. However, students may not change from digital learning to face to face instruction until the end of the nine-week period.

4. Will there be an Open House prior to the start of this school year?

A drive-by “Meet and Greet” will be held on August 20th at the following times:

  • 10 a.m.- 12 noon: Kindergarten and 1st

  • 12 noon- 2 p.m.: 2nd and 3rd

  • 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.: 4th and 5th

  • 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.: Makeup time- but teachers will not be available.

(You may have children in multiple grade levels. We can only arrange for your children’s teachers to be available at the given times. This may mean that you will drive through additional times to meet and greet.)

This will give students parents the opportunity to meet their new teacher, wave hello, drop off school supplies, and pay for fees.

Enter the parent pick up line beside the kindergarten playground. Drive around the building for opportunities to

  • Receive teacher assignment

  • drop-off medication with the nurse

  • sign up for ASP

  • put funds in lunch accounts

  • pay student supply fee ($25)

  • Meet the teacher & drop off *supplies

Checks made out to CSE are preferred, but cash can be accepted as long as it is in a sealed envelope with the student’s name and teacher’s name on the outside (exact amount required).

*Supplies should be labeled with the student’s name.

5 .  What is the policy for parents and/ or visitors coming into the building this year?

Due to the safety concerns relating to the Coronavirus, we are only allowing students and employees to enter our building at this time. This decision is extremely difficult for us because we truly value our parents and want them to be part of our team. However, the safety of our children is our priority.

6. How will parents check out their students during the day or sign in students who are tardy? Also, how do parents pick up students when they get sick at school?

Parents will ring the doorbell at the front door and the receptionist will answer. The parent will tell the receptionist what they need, the name of the student, and show their identification in the camera. The receptionist will proceed with calling the student to the office, making note of the time, reason, and person checking out/in the student then walk the student to the front door. This same process will apply to students being sent home by the school nurse.

7.  Will CSE have an aftercare program (ASP) this year?

Yes! A registration form will be given to those who are interested in aftercare. There is a $5.00 enrollment fee. NOTE: Students are eligible to stay in ASP once a completed registration form is submitted and the $5 enrollment fee is paid.

8.   When will students participating in Digital Learning receive their Chromebook/ iPad?

Students participating in Digital Learning will need to pick up their device on August 21st from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. To pick up a device follow the parent pickup line around the building.

If you need technology assistance please call: 706-965-1020 or email support@catoosa.k12.ga.us.  A technology specialist will help you to resolve the issue.

With the use of Google Classroom, a Catoosa County teacher who may not be the student’s assigned teacher from the zoned school, will provide instruction.
